Social Meeting Assignment 1
Dichotomy:
(Parking/ Quiet)
(Crowded/ Electric)
(Friends/Worked)
Definitions:
Parking: bring (a vehicle that one is driving) to a halt and leave it temporarily, typically in a parking lot or by the side of the road.
Quiet: making little or no noise.
Crowded: (of a space) full of people, leaving little or no room for movement; packed.
Electric: of, worked by, charged with, or producing electricity.
Friends: a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically exclusive of sexual or family relations.
Worked: be engaged in physical or mental activity in order to achieve a purpose or result, especially in one's job; do work.
Sentence and Paragraph
(Parking/ Quiet) "When parking in the lot on campus it was very quiet."
When meeting with my team we discussed where we park on campus as there are many lots to park in. we came to the conclusion that we are all frustrated with the parking on campus as there are never any spots. We also talked about the environment in which we are working in together. In the memorial union it is very quiet, there are a lot of people but it is very quiet and great for doing work.
(Crowded/ Electric) "When going to pay the electric bill at the electric company’s office it was very crowded with customers."
In one of our discussions as a group we spoke about our summers. Sandra had an internship at Citizens bank and Sam had an internship at Electric Boat in Connecticut. It was nice to hear what they did for their summers. We also met up in Dunkin’ Donuts where it was way to crowded, there was not a seat to have so we moved into the Union, where we would have more space and less noise.
(Friends/Worked) "I made a lot of friends in my major that I worked with after class to study."
In our meeting we discussed many things. We discussed where we worked over the summer and if we are currently are working. Sam is currently working at Great clips as a hair dresser this semester. Also we spoke about what we all like to do in our spare time. We came to the conclusion that we all enjoy hanging out with friends!
