Response to Letters

Response to Making Space:

The need for designing is driven by society's view that it can improve or add value to human existence. We live in an artificial world, where much of what we consume is mass-produced. This leaves many yearning for individual products. Individuals have many differences when creating which allows us to distinguish personality traits.

Response to idealization:

I am the opposite. Everything is problematic. Pessimistic would be a word someone would use to describe me. Optimism is something that lacks in my life. Is it that I tend to focus on other people rather than myself? That I put others first? I know that nothing is perfect but maybe if I wasn't so negative I would be a happier person. Maybe it is the people I surround myself with, the people I date. Maybe this will change and I will have a more ideal life. An ideal life is not reality. Nothing goes as planned, although I wish it did.

Response to "Living mindfully in cyberculture"

Word and imagery association is about retaining skills. Word association dictates this class and allows us to see if we have what it takes to retain skills. The skills it takes to cultivate success. Cultivating collaborative cultures entails learning leadership, capacity building, and collaborative work. My mindset matters. I started learning to find a term in the letters that meant something to me. From there I would dive into what it really means. How it relates to life and being more successful. How will these letters benefit me in the future? It will help me by deciphering what information will be advantageous to the success of myself and my organization. Working to my capacity.

Response to "society of consumers"

“Meaning itself is at an end” -- I agree

I believe individualism is getting taken to far. Bauman liquid modernity leans towards it being too much. Or is it just me? 50 selections for gender. I'm open-minded but that is taking it too far.

Enlightenment- European intellectual movement of the late 17th and 18th centuries emphasizing reason and individualism rather than tradition. It was heavily influenced by 17th-century philosophers.

Ungodly- irreligious or immoral
Liquid modernity - Bauman explores the possibility of ethics in a post-modern world. He believes that modernity has always been characterized as dual nature. He began to see an issue with the term "post-modern" and began using the term liquid modernity to better describe the condition of changing relationships, identities, and economics.

The culture was there to reassure themselves what class you belong to
Nature of liquid modernity
Absence of meaning
Technology keeps us mobile “last years men”
The only thing that keeps it moving is that it is not going anywhere
Obtrude -interfere
We cant define the “self” anymore there are now 50 options for gender on facebook.
