I was lucky enough to get two chances so far to encounter different areas of the professional world through internships. This past spring I interned at Carl Weinberg & Co., which is an accounting firm, as a Tax Intern. I spent all of tax season working on individual and corporate returns. I was able to develop the knowledge I had already gained from the classroom and use it out in the professional environment. Now, I am currently interning at Home Loan Investment Bank as a Commercial Lending Intern. This internship is a mix between finance and accounting.

11. Insight, understanding, and realization
I have never done anything like this previously before. Doing this individually seems a lot easier, but less impactful, than in a group. But, with other people I was able to learn more about the process. People have different perspectives on how they view and read things. Everyone's knowledge is slightly different as no-ones minds work in the same way. I will gain a different experience than someone else would, even if we are doing the same exact thing.

2. Word Pool:

Capabilities: ability, capacity, power, potential, competence, proficiency

4. Felt-experience:
I took a photography course as an elective about two years ago and it was not at all what I thought it'd be. I thought I would be able to have free realm to shoot whatever I wanted, but we had certain assignments each week and had to follow those topics. In the beginning I really struggled with trying to get the 50 photograph minimum for the topics. I knew I had the potential to make my photographs more distinctive than what they were. I had to step back from the course to look back at what made my individual work unique and realized that it was nature that sparked my ideas. For one assignment in particular, we had to shoot with the alphabet in mind and we couldn’t stage anything. I was able to create the letter "I" from two flat slabs of stone with small rocks surrounding them. I learned that if I framed everything in certain ways I could create letters in unconventional ways.
