Vocabulary - Understanding Concepts

"SOCIALITY, INDIVIDUATION, DECONSTRUCTION, ACTIVITY, UNABATED, LEARNING, ARCHIVE, SOCIETY" - Professor Dugal

Sociality – the level in which different social groups interact with one another in order to form communities and societies.

Individuation – According to Gilbert Simondon, a French philosopher of individuation, the person creates a sort of mutual developmental correlation with its surrounding in order to become its own individual.

Deconstruction – According to Jacques Derrida, who originated the meaning of “deconstruction”, it is an approach to understand the relationships between text and its meaning.

Activity – An educational process or procedure intended to encourage learning through actual experience.

Unabated – No negative affect in a value of something.

Learning – The process of gaining knowledge or skill.

Archive – A long-term storage area of backup files or files that are no longer in active use.

Society - A group of people broadly distributed from other groups by similar interests, shared professions, and a common culture.

Focus - A condition in which something can be clearly understood.

Evoke – Bring to mind.

Contemplate - To consider carefully.

Difference – A noticeable change or effect.

Making – The process of creating something.

Designing – To create an object, system, or process with purpose.

Space - A period or interval of time.

Social - Interacting with an individual or group of people.

Innovative - Make changes in something established.

"REFLECT, REPEAT, PHRASE, SELECT" -Professor Dugal

Reflect - To express carefully with considered thoughts.

Repeat – To do again.

Phrase - A sequence of words that have meaning, especially when creating a part of a sentence.

Select – To make a choice.

Re-structure – Change an object, process, or phrase differently.

Create – To produce through thoughtful effort.

Value – Worth in usefulness or importance to the individual.

Share – Information distributed to an individual or group of people.

Process – To gain an understanding or acceptance of information.

Solitude – Positive and constructive state of engagement with oneself.

Learning – The process of gaining knowledge or skill.

"READING, INTERPRET, PROCESS, HUB, NETWORK, BECOME, SINGULARITY, CONNECT, DESTINY" - Professor Dugal

Reading – The process of examining and grasping information to create an understanding for one’s self.

Interpret – To understand the meaning of information given.

Process – A series of actions taken to accomplish a result.

Hub – A focal point of activity or interest.

Network – Interacting with others in order to help one’s self.

Become – To experience change or development.

Singularity – Marking one stand out from the others.

Connect – To discover similar information from others for self-clarification. If not, revealing something previously unknown.

Destiny – What is meant to be for the individual in their future.

Platform – A place, means, or opportunity for public expression of opinion.

Momentous – Of upmost importance; of outstanding significance or consequence.

Formation – The act or process of forming something or of taking form.

Dramatic– Forceful in appearance or effect.

Transform – To change markedly the appearance or form of.

Understanding – The ability by which one understands; intelligence

Mapping – The act or process of making a map.

Simulate - To make in imitation of or as a substitute for.

IMMERSE, DEEP, UNDERSTANDING, MODE, READING

Immerse – To engage fully.

Deep – To a great depth in emotions or actions.

Understanding – The ability by which one comprehends.

Mode – A manner of acting or doing something.

Reading – The act of performing aloud written or printed matter.

Sift – Examine thoroughly to identify key information already provided.
Sort - Organize/arrange information.
Select - To pick something out from the amount of information given.
Assemble - To put together.
Associate - Connect with one another.
Emerge - Becomes visible to you.
- Ex: Seeing a bird flying across the sky.
Enter - Go into something or somewhere.
Reveal - To express in public in order to make it known for others.

Aesthetics – Characterized in a creative way.
Abstraction – The quality of words /phrases
Aphorism – A brief statement.
Axiom – An established principle or role.

Ante- Prior to
Narrative – A story
Ante-narrative - is the process by which retrospective narrative is linked to living story.
Pre – Before
Individual – A single human considered apart from a society.
Pre-individual - has a reality of it's own that does not simply vanish into the individual considered as the (unwarranted) telos of an individuating process.
See- To become aware of with the eyes.

Goal- an end.
Possibility- Something that is possible.
Courage- The ability to do something that scares one.
Re- Again.
Mantra- A repeated word or phrase.
Learning- Gaining knowledge or skill.
Create- To produce something.
Structure – Parts put together to create a whole.
Dichotomy- a contrast between two words that mean the opposite from one another.
Symbol- Stands out for something.
Juxtaposition- Two words that have a contrasting effect.
Compare- To identify similarities
Contrast- To identify differences.
Courage – Doing something that scares themselves.

Reassembling- to put information or things together.
Material- An idea or information made.
Process- To put through the steps of a certain procedure.
Association- A connection.
Create- To produce.
Construct- To assemble from parts.
