We are learning to experiment with our writing. We can construct our reality with words. We are honoring each experience we have lived through and giving them meaning to share with others.

We are bringing past experiences into the fishbowl. It is not just what is currently going on around us. Previous experiences make us who we are and affect how we go about certain things. We are using the past, present, and future in the fishbowl.

Cybernetics and your fishbowls

"The new is terrifying. Not because it is this way and not another way, but because it is new.” Vilem Flusser.
I find this quote to be true as this is how I first felt when hearing about the fishbowl. I am putting my own creations and words into the fishbowl for others to view. They are able to see into my thought process.

When you talk about motivating yourself for writing the abstracts, it makes me want to motivate myself to continue working in the fishbowl. I have let myself get behind in my own eyes.

Complex adaptive systems: the art of improvisation

Post by Carissa Sousa » 27 Nov 2019, 12:36

In the fishbowl we are all learning the art of improvising. Every post we are making we are proving that point. We are uncertain as to what we will end up posting as well as what others are going to post. We have to adapt to this new way of thinking and sharing.

I am able to learn how each chosen word can evoke a different image. The choices make all of the difference in the outcome of what we are sharing. Everything we are sharing and creating has had some impact on us at some point in time.

"Whenever you change the way you think, you change your life."
I find this quote to hold true to its meaning. I am learning how to change the way I think though each chosen word. I am giving these words meaning. I need to learn to chose a wider and intriguing selection of words.

Looking at ourselves again

The fishbowl is like a labyrinth, it is like a maze. We are developing our own abstractions in it. By doing so, we are sharing our own lived experiences. No two experiences would be exactly alike. We need to be creative when sharing these experiences through our word choices.

Our groups are made stronger by each individual person. The fishbowl is made stronger by each group. Through this, we are creating a symbiotic system.
