Virtual Reality: Our Digital Escape

Post by Carissa Sousa » 17 Sep 2019, 23:21

9/12/19

• Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one - Albert Einstein
• It is getting harder to tell our own created illusions from reality
• So what happens when we are able to simulate reality so well we create an environment that is indistinguishable from the real world
• And what happens if once we're in we don’t want to go back
• Think of virtual reality as a portal into any world that we can create, a simulated reality
• Virtual realities actually allow us to become part of the world we make, where we can touch and move things, where we can put ourselves in situations that we most likely wouldn’t otherwise be in
• Some would say they are crafting their own destiny, others would say its escaping from reality
• The universe, for all that we know, could just be part of a nested group of other realities and what we see as virtual reality is just us continuing down the funnel
• Realities where we are the creators not the created
• If we're able to build these places and fully immerse ourselves to where we can't tell that we are in a simulated reality, we just might find out that we aren't going back

When we are restructuring a text, we are creating something of value.

Reading the other's posting

I think that reading the posts of others will get me thinking and see how others view the same subject. We are all showing our own experiences.

In the fishbowl we are able to reveal a lot about ourselves through our thoughts and words.

Meeting once again

"We can do anything we want, so long as we do it together and we are open to our differences."
I thought the abstracting was going to be more difficult than it ended up being, but once I understood the process it was more doable.
