Participant Observation - A data collection method where the researcher participates with the observed subject(s) in order to gain a better understanding of the subject(s).

Social Construction of Reality - The way we perceive others and the way we act is partly shaped by the way that we have interacted with others in our past and present, and this is what defines our reality. For example, we've come to accept money as a real thing, but it is also a social construct that, if we didn't give it meaning, wouldn't have any.

Symbolic Interactionism - The focus of small scale interactions in order to better understand the individual and their patterns when interacting with others.

Action Research - A research method where the researcher seeks transformative change through the simultaneous process of taking action and doing research, which are linked together through reflection.
