Re: Reflection on Letters
Facing Each other
- It is so important to stay on top of your schoolwork and life in general. The last thing I ever want to happen for me is to fall behind in my classes. Even sending out a resume. In the past, there was a course that I use to push off because I had other important schoolwork to do. Later in the semester, I ended up piled with so much work to do for that course that I couldn’t sleep. Ever since that self-experience, I know not to do that again. I think this class more importantly is a class you can’t fall behind because it will take a while to catch up. Maybe not even catch up at all. Organization is key!

Recapping methodology of the fishbowl
We are creating our own path by using the way of design thinking. As I get older, the decisions I make are not the same I made a couple of years ago. For example, I wanted to be a cashier when I got older. Now, I realized that being a cashier is not an ideal job to have. I want to now become a buyer for a fashion company. We are creating these paths by learning from each other and the fishbowl. It is nice to recap these methodologies in order to recognize our participant observation, social construction of reality, and symbolic interactionism in the fishbowl and real life.

Doing conversation
- There is never really a time that I self-reflect, unless I am told to do so. I self-reflect when I have to think about what happened last night or what I ate for dinner the other night, so I do not get tired of the same food. Self-reflection helps construct a realty of my life and how I am going to take it the next time. Although self-reflection helps tell a story, confidence is key in life. If I am writing about my life in these fishbowl entries or assignments, it will be unique. It is my story, my life. Especially now knowing that my group member and I have different backgrounds, it makes our group stand out.

Science of networks
- Everyone has a different story, but somehow have a lot of similar traits. I definitely have experience that in my group with Matthew. We both come from different backgrounds, but we both have the same traits in pursuing our goals in life. If we talk to one person every day, we will learn something new. There will be a different point of view based on how the conversation starts and ends based on the topics that comes up. For example, my mom and I talk or text each other every day. Although I talk to her every day, I always learn something new from her or I teach her something new. It keeps our lives interesting.

Re: Reflection on Letters
What is your metaphor?
- Metaphors is what writers use when describing something based on certain objects or scenarios. My parents are the first people I think of when it comes to metaphors. Every time I come home to NY for the weekend, my parents always come up with new metaphors to use in conversation. It definitely helps me better understand the context of what we are talking about at the moment. A metaphor phrase I like to use is “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade”.

Reader response theory
- It is important to read other people’s work in order for you to give feedback. By taking ownership in your writing, you are responding to the questions that arise from the reader. My responses will help the reader better understand my writing and potentially have me adjust some things in my piece. Criticism is helpful when it comes to any type of writing or project in general. It makes you a better writer.

Your Fishbowl is your YouTube channel
- I can see why people create YouTube channels. It is their fishbowl. They are displaying their life for others to see and not be ashamed of it. That’s why people who are normally on the shy side make these channels because it is their only freedom in expressing their life to people. It makes the individual feel better that everything is out there and there are no secrets. This is their way of design thinking and creating a reality.

Self-driven agenda
- Thank you for allowing us to show our work before we submit it into the fishbowl. It is helpful to get feedback from you in order to make sure my group member and I are doing the work properly. After getting the feedback, my group member and I will be ready to move forward on our own and work in the fishbowl. Even after doing this activity on Integrated, Network and Structure, it is important to talk about ourselves in order to fully understand the three concepts.

Simulating Complex Adaptive Systems
- Doing the paper on integrated, networking, structures, it definitely opened up things I would never expect me to talk about community service in my felt experience from those three words. I never thought of doing it since this paper was assigned to me. It brought back old memories that I won’t forget. Now it is time to talk about complex, adaptive, systems, and I cannot wait what ideas/ experiences pop into my head when I see these words in another way. It is crazy how our minds work. The fishbowl is bringing back memories that I thought I would never think about again. Real space into cyber space. Personal experiences into the fishbowl.

Morning thoughts: developing a Voice
- I love having voice. I grew up in an Italian family that was not afraid to have a voice when someone felt a certain way. Especially when someone was giving an attitude, it would be called out right away. Living in this type of culture has certainly helped me in my college experiences when it came to my friends and schoolwork. When I knew there was drama in the room, I wanted to settle then and there. I wanted the issue(s) to be solved, so we can go on about our lives. Not worth the time for drama. There are more things to worry about than stupid drama.

Re: Reflection on Letters
Looking forward to reading
- I really do appreciate you showing my post to my fellow classmates. It is showing the passion in my mind, being carried into the fishbowl. We are developing ourselves day by day based on reflecting on our thoughts. It makes it more realistic to display my thoughts in the fishbowl for people to read. My felt experiences are supporting me to make this happen. This is how it makes a certain person grow. To become a better person. To create our future by expressing our experiences.

Simultaneous reading and writing
- I would like to thank Professor Dugal for taking the time to read all of our papers in order to help us succeed. We are creating value by expressing our experiences. Each person in our classroom is creating a different meaning towards the class and/or in life as a whole. I am starting to notice a pattern for this course.
