Integrated Networking Structures- 10 step

I. To begin this assessment, I wanted to find a good example of what an integrated networking structure completely entails. According to an abstract from ncbi.nlm.nih.gov, integrated networking structures is said to be, “…small teams striving for disciplinary advances. Yet as a whole, this endeavor more closely resembles a complex and integrated system of people, papers, and ideas.” I believe this is referencing the fact that ideas can only emerge from your head, but as you bring them together and share them as a group, that is where the value is created.

Taking a step back, I defined the individual words of Integrated, network, and structure.

Integrated- with various parts or aspects linked or coordinated
Network- a group or system of interconnected people or things
Structure- the arrangement and relation between parts or elements that are complex.

II. Word Pool
Integrated- unified, mixed, combined, mingled, blending, joined
Networking- associate, link, connections
Structure- arrangement, complex, design, format

Bigger Picture
Unified- consolidated, cooperative, undivided, affiliated

III. New Sentences
A) The format of URI’s business school is to be blended with students with different interests and entrepreneur minds.
B) The design of this class helps to unify all of our thoughts into one fishbowl.
C) The flower arrangement is mixed with all different kind of wild flowers.
D) The soon to be associate mingled his way into landing his dream job.
E) To link a word to a picture, one must combine the two with imagery.
F) It was extremely complex to make new connections without using LinkedIn.

IV. Felt experience
My experience of creating my words was powerful to say the least. I tapped into a place of asking myself, “What inspires you,” and “What CHANGES you.” The first word that came to my mind was sensory. It was a feeling out how can I create tangible words into an intangible meaning that will stick with someone. As I step back, I realize that it was easy to spitfire words, but to connect them to each other was the meaningful part. I believe the same is for how this class compares to real life and our future jobs. This class is just one aspect to having a successful future just as a word is one part of an entire sentence if meanings. It is how you string together and use words that make them powerful.

V. Three Words

Abby: blend, meeting, arranged
Nicole: combine, connect, construction
Mary: unify, mingle, format

VI: Dichotomy
A) The construction of this paper consisted of blending 3 people from BUS345 together.
B) We had a phone meeting to unify the format of this paper.
C) In able to meet up and connect, we had to arrange a time that worked for everyone in our group.
D) At first, it was awkward to combine a group of people who didn’t know each other and have them mingle for their first assignment.

VIII. Mary: At the job fair, I was told to be cooperative, and network myself so I could land the
job.

Abby: In the meeting our group had arranged, the three of us blended very easily due to
the fact we all attend the same university.

Nicole: During my internship this summer, I molded the path to my career in a way that allowed me to merge lessons and experiences I’ve gained throughout college which enabled me to be successful.

IX. Felt experience

My felt experience for the group work was eagerness. I know to make this assignment work was to meet up with my group at some point. Because I don’t know them too well, it made me rather anxious. Once we stated comparing words however, I began to get inspired on how much my previous anxiety didn’t matter and that we were all trying to reach the same goal. By making pools of words, I was able to brainstorm my ideas while drawing out what I was thinking.

X. 1/2/3 : 1/2/3 : 1/2/3

Mary about her work: busy
Mary about Abby’s work: diligent
Mary about Nicole’s work: independent

Abby about Mary’s work: leader
Abby about her work: impactful
Abby about Nicole’s work: self-sufficient

Nicole about Mary’s work: perceptive

Nicole about Abby’s word: original

XI. Insight

I think this exercise really showed that it is important to come together and study different concepts. For this particular exercise, we studied the integrated network structure, which was fitting because that is exactly what we were doing as a group. Coming together tested us to be creative in innovative while still being true to ourselves.
