Meeting Once again
10/1
I agree that it is good to have our face-to-face classes. I did not feel that doing the abstraction was uncomfortable, I enjoyed writing about our social meeting. Friendship in the workplace would be something interesting to observe and to do research about.

Learning is an act of courage
10/2
I feel we gained a lot of perspective during our group social meeting. Throughout my paragraphs from the meeting, I compared and contrasted the differences between my group members and myself. We discussed a lot and learned a lot about each other as well as our similarities and differences. I feel like we have constructed a lot of meaning in our group from our social meeting and will definitely create more as the semester continues.

Soft Power
10/3/19
I feel that particular sentence from the syllabus is very powerful. It definitely greatly connects to this course and what it is all about. Creating soft power will help us in succeeding in this course. It also most definitely doesn't seem like an English writing course!

creating and constructing knowledge content
10/5/19:
I found the quote by Gary Wolf extremely interesting. I never thought of remembering and forgetting something as similar. Before reading this quote, I would think of them as complete opposites but now I see this words in both similar and different ways.

Sharing the world: reading your social meeting reflections
10/7/19:
• Self-reflection: When thinking of and judging your own character, self-reflection is extremely important in doing this.
• Participative observation: For our ‘social meeting’ assignment, we all took part in participative observation when trying to learn about one another.
• Symbolic interaction: Symbolic interaction is formed based on meaning one has for something formed from social experiences.
• Auto-ethnography: Writers use auto-ethnography to connect their autographical story to wider cultural, political, and social meanings
• Dichotomous thinking: During our write-ups after our social meeting, we used dichotomous thinking to complete a section of it.
• Structures and structuring: People with specific structures in their lives can sometimes be more successful and organized.
• Interpretation: All group members can have a different interpretation of the social meeting based of their thoughts and the way they view the world.
• Sharing thoughts and mental processes: During class, students share thoughts to get clarification as well as stay engaged with others.

Further reflection on your social meeting papers
This is a very interesting concept. When we are planning to do something, we first think of it and then complete the action. However when writing about or reflecting on something, we partake in the activity and then think about it. In our social meeting, we first met with our groups and talked/got to know each other and then after thought about it when writing about our experience.

Idealizations
10/9/19
Idealizations are the action of representing something as perfect or better than in reality. When thinking about or writing about an experience, it is can sometimes be more of a idealization and not exactly what happened. When people write about things, they always want it to sound better, which is why this is sometimes done.

Living Mindfully in Cyber Space
10/10
In our society today, the "cyber" world is taking over almost everything. Between communication, retail, news, video, and many other uses, the cyber world has pretty much everything to offer. We have one place that we can do almost anything we want. Although it can be beneficial, we must make sure we don't let the media completely consume our lives and know when to make the separation between the real world and the web.

Thinking Process
10/11/19
Seeing how you can make the same statement in so many ways is very interested. Words are so important and it is clear from this example, everything we say can also be said in multiple different ways. As you put further thought into a statement/ idea, you are able to understand it more through the different worlds you are able to use.

Apperception
10/14
Reading the beginning of your draft was fun. It is interesting to see how you describe the class and what we are doing in it from your perspective as the professor of the class. Not only is it interesting to say, but it helps form a better understanding of the class for myself as I read your explanation of it.

knowledge construction in a knowledge economy

After going onto the website, as I read the sub-themes, a lot of them reminded me greatly of our class and what we discuss in it. For example, sub-theme 07 is Organization Network Dynamics and Churn. Throughout our class, we have spoken greatly about organization, dynamics, and networking in the work place as well as in our own experiences.

Social networks and new forms of sociality
10/20/19
This letter made me reflect back on the work we have been completing through our fishbowls. As the class continues, we are forming virtual communities between ourselves and our other 2 fishbowl group members. Having this structure for our class has influenced us as students to think and work in many new ways.
