In the fishbowl, the whole class is able to share their own personal meanings and values. Through the collection of all individual ideas, everyone is able to benefit. We all gain knowledge and are able to recognize/understand different perspectives on life and the world.
These collections and interpretations allow the class to establish a society among our own individual ideas.

Dr. Dugal's carefully chosen words aren't directed to mean one specific thing that one individual may think.
He leaves the interpretation up to us, in order to create our own meanings.
Thus, we become a "Hub" in a "network of information".
Technology alleviates some necessary research, in configuring our society.
Technology is a huge resource in gaining knowledge and understanding.

This world is always evolving and subject to change.
People may not like change at first, but once they are able to adapt, it may benefit them greater than before.
These changes and new platforms are useful in changing our understanding of previous ideals.
Our fishbowls are always evolving and subject to change, which relates to the science of simulation, and fishbowl is just that.

Re: Response to Letters: New forms of intimacy & friendship
The social meeting exercise is designed to connect with others and to form friendships. These connections help shape how we personally think of ourselves, as we perceive how others think of us in social settings. These new connections are based on older connections of intimacy, with regards to love, parent-child relationships, and previous friendships. As Giddens says, these new connections and transformations are occurring everywhere.

The social meeting exercise helped establish our individual social entity's.
This also helps to give our group members a good perspective of what we are saying in the Fishbowl, as they now know our personal symbols, expressions and views.

The Fishbowl is a safe place where we all can write down our ideas, while viewing and interpreting others ideas, in order to formulate our own flow of words/ visuals to create unprecedented knowledge for ourselves.

Re: Response to Letters: Meeting once Again
It was good to meet again and see some familiar faces, as well as to see my group members again after the exercise. I feel as though we have a solid, hard-working and intelligent group.

Re: Response to Letters: Learning is an act of courage
Through the social meeting exercise, our group was able to establish some similarities and differences among each other. We all are different majors, from different states in the U.S. But we all share similarities in that we are all URI students, the same age, pursuing a degree from the University with the goal of doing well in our courses. We all share the courage to learn and pursue a successful career.

“The ability to share information --- and to be believed --- becomes an important source of attraction and power.”
We must say what we mean, and mean what we say. It is important that we structure our words in a impactful way, in order to establish a sense of "soft-power".
