Class Notes 11/19/19
To come up with that anecdote, it takes time
In the second round, look at your phrases and raise questions among them
You're doing deep thinking when you're answering "how so?"
Doing logistics so don't miss class, need to know what's happening
You at least read the letters so you know where this is going
Keep reading, because when abstract is being talked about you know what is being said
We're trying to beat the system and show up, there are other fallouts that'll happen so we have to strategize
We want to get our name into the conference
Engagement and expressions: two important things for building knowledge content
We are taking in the abstract these two things
Adding value to the group not copying each other
Engaged with text outside (engagement)
Outside the group as a resource for learning and use the info to make a positive impact inside the group
Tried to enhance the learning of your group
Expression: when I feel good and I am adding value then we'd be an effective group
It's about our selection of symbols
Showing ourselves to ourselves

Deep thinking (google)
Pull out a sentence that means something to you
Reflexive leadership
Abstract Expressionism
Captured and configured it very consciously
Performative writing
Active learning, action
Performed it when you acted on it, it was the choice you made
Started with an empty canvas, entered with a structure, born with it can't escape
Then you started creating something
Work is finished and appreciated when its the work you created
You change the way you think by going into your inner self
The journey is inwards not outwards
You're not analyzing data, or info out there you're going inward and presenting it
You're doing it to change the way YOU think
There are layers of depth in your papers
It's the outcome of a deliberate process
The process is the product
The outcome is your process that you're selling
Composition
Your paper is all over the place without clear focus points
Random fields of chaos and anyone can do it
The technique is simple
The paradox is: only YOU could have written that paper
Performative Writing (google): your writing directly from your unconscious and your revealing hidden truths
Pollock- Inspiration Excerpt
