Sharing what we see when we read
I’ve never given much thought to what my words mean especially in a digital world, where things can be misinterpreted. We are all different and have our own thoughts that we can share and connect with. I do agree that differences are the way forward in our future. It is very important to connect with people not only digitally but face to face.

Stimulating a society
I’ve never used the fishbowl for any other class but I do think it is a great tool for connectivity and interaction with other students in the class and within our groups. Because society is becoming more digital is a great way to be involved in the class without actually having to be there physically.

Reading the other's text
By reading others work I do agree that it is a great way to find ourselves. It can be a reflection of our own thoughts, and maybe a different way of thinking. Skimming other’s posts is not a good way to get a good idea of what they are saying; it is important to read in depth to find the deeper meaning. The Fishbowl is a great way to connect with peers in a much different way than a traditional class.

New Forms of Intimacy and Friendship
The way we communicate and form ties and connections with others is definitely changing. Its revolutionary how our forms of communication are so different from how they used to be. The social meeting was definitely a great way to share our thoughts and mental processes with each other. It was a little challenging because we talked about very broad topics, but very worth it. Forming new friendships is a very important thing.

Meeting Once Again
Management of aesthetics of storytelling means that there are certain ways to make some stories more effective than others. Feelings of connectiveness, meaning, and enjoyment are all ways that make a story more interesting, effective, and strong.

Learning is an act of courage
The fishbowl is a great way to gain a deeper perspective and different points of view on topics discussed in class. By comparing and contrasting what our group members post, we are able to create a deeper meaning.

Soft power
I’m still unsure what soft power means but, to me, it is a way for us to share information and be a source of power through the fishbowl. By sharing our ideas and views, our group members believe what we are saying. It makes studying and learning the information easier because we are able to connect with each other in a different way.

Bruno Latour is one of the world’s leading social theorists. The books aims to investigate assumptions about the nature of what is being assembled in society. This is a similar process of what we are doing in class because, by posting in the fishbowl, we are contracting an assembly of different words that ultimately create meaning.

Creating and constructing knowledge content
The social meeting exercise forced us to share personal experiences and knowledge with our group members. Although everyone’s life and experiences are different, we all found something in common that we could connect with.

Symbolic interaction is a sociological theory that explains how people interact with each other.
Auto-ethnography uses self reflection to explore personal experiences.
Dichotomous thinking is the tendency to think in polar opposites.
Structures and structuring is how our society is created.
Interpretation is the explanation or meaning.

Living mindfully in cyber-culture
Thinking about our lives now, it is heavily cyber based. Almost everything we do today requires some sort of technology. It’s hard to think about life without it. The fishbowl helps us grow and collaborate through technology. It makes it easier for us to connect with other people and reflect on ourselves.

Social networks and new forms of sociality
Becoming a whole means we take all of our knowledge and ideas and come together as a group to form new opinions and knowledge. It lets us think about things in a different way by reading each other’s posts. We are collecting intelligence in a way we have never done before. Social networks affect everyone daily and this is a new way of networking. It is a new form of sociality
