Feelings: Our meeting began a little later than planned because I was caught up at work. We planned to meet up on the couches in the library a little before class. Max waited patiently for me on the couches in the lobby of the first floor of the library. Sitting on the couches made this experience feel more casual and natural rather than an assignment where we were forced to talk to one another. Our conversation started out on a surface level about school and then the rest flowed organically.
No matter how small, any act of environmental sustainability can help to preserve our ecosystem for decades to come.
- Small: having comparatively little size
- Environmental: the complex of physical, chemical, and biotic factors that act upon an organism or an ecological community
We realized that we are both out of state students, so we got into a conversation about how we chose to come up to Rhode Island for college. Max went to a very small high school, so he wanted to experience a different area than his peers. He started at URI as an environmental science major but later decided to focus on environmental economics and business.
Sometimes it is unclear how, but everything in life can be related in some way.
- Related: Connected by reason
- Unclear: Difficult to understand
We discovered that we are both business minors, so we related on the fact that we are taking this course as one of our last minor fulfillments. We are both seniors, so graduating from college is in our near future. Max is very close to graduation since he will be leaving in December. He has a sense of a few different career paths he could follow with his environmental economics degree, however right now he is unclear on the specific one he specifically wants to pursue.
Decisions that family members make might not seem reasonable right away, however they typically have your best interest in mind and will be beneficial in the long run.
- Family: A group of persons under common ancestry
- Reasonable: Not extreme or excessive
As we got to talking about URI, we realized one of the reasons we both decided to come here was the fact that it was far enough away from our respective hometown but still a reasonable drive. Another similarity we came across was that we have both vacationed at neighboring beaches on the south end of the Jersey Shore.
