Strictly Ballroom
A. Unfolding transformative potential:
In strictly ballroom when Fran, a regular dance student, put herself out there to Scott by offering to be his dance partner after Liz left. She wanted to prove that she could put in the hard work and be a successful dance partner. Day in and day out they practiced their routine with Fran's father and grandmother.

B. Images and ideas people hold of themselves:
Scott comes from a family of ballroom dancers and he himself has been practicing since he was a kid. So, he has this image of himself to follow the usual steps and become another successful family ballroom dancer. When he starts to realize that he would rather move away from tradition and dance using his own individual moves, he encounters backlash from the crowd and close people around him. Throughout the rest of the movie, Scott tries to navigate individuality and family traditions.

Personal
A. Unfolding transformative potential:
I was a buying intern this past summer for Rebecca Minkoff in New York City. I was thrown into the business of fashion world on day one. The entire summer was a big learning curve for me professionally. With that being said, it was an important and transformative experience for me to grow as a future buyer and begin to navigate the professional world

B. Images and ideas people hold of themselves:
I hold this image of myself as being a hardworking student that always gets my work done. My mindset was tested when I entered college because I had more free time. Being on campus in the dorms, I was always surrounded by social opportunities and had to figure out how to manage my time between getting my school work done, leaving a little bit of down time for myself and hanging out/ making friends. Four years later, my priorities have shifted a little more towards experiencing life in general and I am happy how these past few years have unfolded as a result.
