Social Meeting

Post by Kyle Naranjo » 02 Oct 2019, 14:30

Before our meeting, I was excited to meet my group. It always nice to see who you are writing to in your fishbowl. I will admit that I was a bit nervous at first, but I was looking forward to it.

I suggested we meet at Monahan’s Clam Shack near the sea wall and both my group members admitted that they have never been there since coming to URI; I was shocked. Easily one of my favorite food places in the area, it’s a shame that it is only seasonal. We all met up on line and I recommended they try the popcorn shrimp. After receiving our food and finding a table, we started our discussions. We are all from different states, but all reside in the college of business. Haley is from New Jersey and a TMD major here at URI and Mike is from Connecticut and is a management major much like myself. Since Monahan’s is right on the water, it was a windy day at the shack. Napkins and rubbish were everywhere and no one seemed to care. We talked about the areas we live in and how we all like our situations this year. At first, I was not a fan of this school, but as I started hanging around Narragansett more I loved it. The only bad part about Rhode Island, which we discussed, wad the constant construction; there has not been a day that’s passed by where I have not seen construction being done. They even wake me up at 7:30 A.M. in my own neighborhood. The more time we spent at Monahan’s, the more dogs we saw; every so often an owner would be walking their dog along the sea wall. As we finished up, I suggested that we hit the ‘Dairy Bar’ behind Monahan’s. We all got two scoops on a cone; Haley got chocolate while Mike and I got chocolate chip cookie dough. Once we finished up our cones, we said our farewells and we were on our way. It was a quite enjoyable meeting with my new group members and I look forward to writing more content on our fishbowl.
