The Nature of metaphor
- Rhizome – a continuously growing horizontal underground stem which puts out lateral shoots and adventitious roots at intervals

Please watch this movie clip called The Private Life is Dead (4mts)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozpct8zUA_U

As you watch the moving images in the clip, and as you read the text being spoken, please do the following:

1. Note the words that are evoked in you by the facial expressions (images).
- stern, tense, scared, confused, emotional,
2. Note the images that are evoked in you by the text.
-

After that, please take a look at your notings, and match them with personal, lived and experienced examples.

Keep the assignment short. Just a few (3-4) concepts/words/ideas/symbols with your personal life examples.

I love the last line: Just Live!
I hope you understand that you are being asked to just live in your fishbowls. It is the only way you’re going to survive.
