Social Meeting Exercise

It is truly amazing how gratifying life can be when we realize: There is so much more good in the world than bad. When we take a step back to realize our own efforts and achievements are what we make of them. To get out of our heads and focus on one another. The fact that we walk by so many potential friends, so many potential conversations because we are too trapped in our minds to say hello. We sometimes miss field days worth of experiences because we can be a bit too trapped in our own boxes. I am grateful for the social greeting because we had the opportunity to get out of our personal boxes to focus and learn about another person’s life instead of our own.

Before meeting, Brianna emailed our group for which I was so grateful for. I was worried about how our group was going to get together when I didn’t know of a way to reach out. When Brianna wrote I was very thankful because I wasn’t sure if anyone was going to write to figure out how to write one another. Through email that transferred into texting, I was so grateful for Brianna’s response. After chatting about meeting times available for both of us, we decided on a date and time to meet. We decided on the new bagel place at the top of campus, Providence Bagels. On my way to the meeting I was very thankful that we had a day and time set up and was excited to finally meet outside of a classroom setting. When arriving at the coffee shop, I arrived a few minutes after Brianna and ordered my coffee. Instantly, the conversation flowed. Brianna is someone who is a genuinely kind person and I noticed this right off the bat. I thought Brianna was extremely impressive with her entrepreneurial spirit and kind nature. We started off talking about what we were involved with on campus and I found out that she used to be Chi Omega’s President. I told her how I am involved in my business fraternity on campus and have held leadership positions as well. We also mentioned what we were working on this summer and I was so excited to hear about Brianna’s job working with planning, designing and executing weddings. I thought this was amazing because she told me about the things she worked on and how stunning and wonderful the wedding she helped organize were. She even helped me with a few suggestions with my brother’s upcoming wedding which I truly appreciated. I talked about my position over the summer and we bonded over our entrepreneurial mindsets. I thought this was such a cool thing to mentally link over because both of us would want to have our own businesses. After I realized I was almost late to another meeting, Brianna was kind enough to give me a ride so I wouldn’t be late. Time flies when you have fun and time sure did fly. I was incredibly thankful for Brianna giving me the ride and on departure we both hoped to see each other again and possibly even see each other tomorrow night at Bonvue! I was fabulously thankful for the social meeting exercise because I gained a future friend out of it!

Vocab: Gratifying, Genuine, Impressive, Entrepreneurial, Departure, Fabulously

Given an account with words
By applying speech to our actions, we can connect amid two objects of existing materials that exist in our thoughts. Our faculty of consciousness connects us with familiar impressions put forth to help us function within society.
Felt experience
As we progress through life, I realize just how important the existence of thoughts are. I think the ways to connect our thoughts breeds the aid of consciousness and feelings. It’s important to connect and bond through our intuition and judgements. By functioning together, we can extend ourselves to one another to be connected to humanity.
Condensed and simplified Idea: by building upon our thoughts, we can create an abstract product to serve the greater good

11. Final Paragraph

From all of our experiences, there is a common theme of growth. As we develop our mind throughout this class, we have learned to have a connection between the mindset of deep thinking. Our words are being used as more than just words. Our words hold meaning and if we use our words wisely, we are improving and support our own mental development. As we look onto others we learn that we all have prior experiences that shape us into who we are as humans. Our experiences shape us into how we act in certain situations. Language is a beautiful thing. We can share joy, hurt, excitement, fear, anger and so much more through our language and affect others not only positively, but negatively as well. As we go through life, we need to recognize that our words affect others.
