Interpreting Letters

Post by Nahg1 » 14 Dec 2019, 00:33

It is truly amazing how gratifying life can be when we realize: There is so much more good in the world than bad. When we take a step back to realize our own efforts and achievements are what we make of them. To get out of our heads and focus on one another. The fact that we walk by so many potential friends, so many potential conversations because we are too trapped in our minds to say hello. We sometimes miss field days worth of experiences because we can be a bit too trapped in our own boxes. I am grateful for the social greeting because we had the opportunity to get out of our personal boxes to focus and learn about another person’s life instead of our own.

PARADIGM: a typical example or pattern of something; a model.
Synonyms: Model, pattern, example, standard

“Metaphor and Design as an approach to understanding social reality (like your fishbowls), and as an approach to change, belongs to the social-constructionist school of thought. It is underpinned by the idea that human awareness and knowledge have an unfolding transformative potential and that the images and ideas people hold of themselves and their world have a fundamental impact on how their realities unfold…”

One of my favorite quotes from the movie was Fran stating “What happened to a life lived in fear and all that stuff?” I thought this was a great statement because sometimes as individuals, we get too caught up in what is standard and what we think we should be doing based on the “Status quo”. We need to look around and observe our surroundings to really appreciate what we have in front of us. When we appreciate what we have and what we can do, the better things are to come.

I think as an individual it was hard for me to move away from my home state of Virginia and move to Rhode Island. But for me, I saw this as an opportunity to grow and see myself in a new light.

Mind as Passion: strong 'sense of an ending', a perspective on late modernist culture which unites diverse interests and spans essays and fiction. Feeling the matter is always right in front of us, something that is so gracious and powerful. The matter allows us to grasp concepts and allows us to react every minute to the situations and people around us. “These ‘things' are thoughts, fleeting and ephemeral, with patterns and designs and, you could get stuck in any one of them” We tend to get stuck in certain mindsets and situations. This ‘matter’ is powerful. This matter can control how we interact or feel on a daily basis. This matter is reified, as our actions reflect how we feel. What we choose to pick and choose to exert energy towards shows how we react to similar and different situations. Why would we choose to focus on something that has already passed. Something that is irrelevant to picking or choosing who is to blame. Why do we need to point fingers to rectify who or what was right? We choose to unearth the meaning and matter as to why something happened or existed. This ‘matter’ pushes us to discover and manifest value within ourselves and the world around us.
