Letter 44: Reflecting mid-way
Your virtual products are ‘singular' and part of a ‘multitude'-- Multitude by Hardt and Negri: “The multitude is both plural and multiple, wherein people maintain their individualities but act based on common interests. Hardt and Negri posit that global production is made possible by "the commons" of language and communications and information networks.”
“wherein people maintain their individualities but act based on common interests”--this is insightful. People subconsciously do this, I can see it in their social media and when they are just a regular person walking around, this is evident.
Letter 46:Forming theory with anecdotal evidence
Jane Gallop: Anecdotal Theory: Jane Gallop addresses many of the major questions of feminist theory, regularly revisiting not only '70s feminism, but also poststructuralism and the academy, for, as Gallop explains, the practice of anecdotal theory derives from psychoanalysis, deconstruction, and feminism.
I found this word interesting : Poststructuralism, meaning deconstruction, emphasized the instability of meaning.

Don Schon: The Reflective Practitioner
- “Reflective practice is the ability to reflect on one's actions so as to engage in a process of continuous learning.”
- “Through a feedback loop of experience, learning and practice, we can continually improve our work (whether educational or not) and become a reflective practitioner.”
- “Experience alone does not necessarily lead to learning; deliberate reflection on experience is essential.”

Becoming (Gilles Deleuze)
- “Becoming isn't a part of history; history amounts only [to] the set of preconditions, however recent, that one leaves behind in order to ‘become’, that is, to create something new.”
- “Becoming is a process of change, flight, or movement within an assemblage.”
- “An assemblage is any number of ‘things’ or pieces of ‘things’ gathered into a single context.”

‘Runaway World’ (Anthony Giddins)
- New freedoms are revolutionizing relationships
- New forms of intimacy are more genuine than those which formerly resulted from tradition
- “Here are ‘purer’ forms of relationships based not on notions of traditional form or necessity but on the emotional rewards derived from personal communication.”

Assemblage Theory (Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari)
- Ontological framework
- “Within a body, the relationships of component parts are not stable and fixed; rather, they can be displaced and replaced within and among other bodies...”
- “A constellation, like any assemblage, is made up of imaginative contingent articulations among myriad heterogeneous elements.”
- Process:
1. Coding – Ordering matter around a body
2. Stratification – Creating hierarchical bodies
3. Territorialization – Ordering the coded and stratified bodies that create the assemblage

Assemblage Theory (Manuel DeLanda)
- Draws from Deleuze and Guattari
- “Social bodies on all scales are best analyzed through their individual components.”
- Exteriority: Assemblage components are self-subsistent and retain autonomy outside of the assemblage in which they exist

‘Where the Mind is Without Fear’ by Rabindranath Tagore
- Prayer to God for freedom at a time when India longed for freedom from British rule (literal interpretation)
- Freedom from fear unleashes limitless possibilities (metaphorical interpretation)

Management of aesthetics of story-telling
- How and why some stories are more effective than others
- Three ideas about the nature of aesthetic experience:
1. felt meaning from abductive reasoning,
2. characterized by feelings of connectedness, and
3. enjoyed for its own sake
- Supply criteria for identifying story quality and suggest how to make stories more effective

Ante-narrative and Pre-individual
Ante-narrative: The process by which retrospective narrative is linked to living story.
Pre-individual: Individuation is an ever-incomplete process, always leaving a "pre-individual" left over, which makes possible future individuations.
