When I transferred to the University of Rhode Island from Community College of Rhode Island I did not think I blended in at all and thought that it would be noticeable I was new, I was wrong. I was able to connect with other students and learn more about the school and what goes on here. I formed friendships and work relationships through the experiences the business school gave me.

8. Structure
Encountering new events and obstacles help develop skills and knowledge.
9. Felt-experience
I was lucky enough to get two chances so far to encounter different areas of the professional world through internships. This past spring I interned at Carl Weinberg & Co., which is an accounting firm, as a Tax Intern. I spent all of tax season working on individual and corporate returns. I was able to develop the knowledge I had already gained from the classroom and use it out in the professional environment. Now, I am currently interning at Home Loan Investment Bank as a Commercial Lending Intern. This internship is a mix between finance and accounting.
10. 1/2/3 : 1/2/3 : 1/2/3
Individual/gained/knowledge
Opportunities/existence/critical
Team/peers/develop
11. Insight, understanding, and realization
I have never done anything like this previously before. Doing this individually seems a lot easier, but less impactful, than in a group. But, with other people I was able to learn more about the process. People have different perspectives on how they view and read things. Everyone's knowledge is slightly different as no-ones minds work in the same way. I will gain a different experience than someone else would, even if we are doing the same exact thing.
