Entering fishbowl is entering a gym, exercising your mind
Learning all types of things in the fishbowl to create all types of jobs
When you work, you want to create a society within a team/company
Learning to connect with each other, connectivity is BIG
I am making a commitment to read every post from my group members
Connection happens in the head
Happens through the exchange of symbols
We lead symbolic lives, textual lives
Nothing exists outside of words
Writing words to add value to the group
Carefully selecting words and underlined selections
Restructuring creates value
Your notes are your negotiations
Every time you make divisions and subdivisions you’re creating knowledge
Creating your own reality where you experience life and sociality.
Sustaining and adding to each other's lives with words and knowledge
Your group members should benefit from your work
Distraction means I’m not slowing down, focusing, or selecting my words. Nor substituting them to create value.
Entering fishbowl to create value for my two partners
Differences are realized in our mental structures
Differences in mental structures are identified by the difference of words/meaning of words used.
Trying to connect across these differences
Phenomenologists
Creating history as possibility
You do not want to copy it because you want to experience yourself
Don’t copy, you look for difference


Homework Assignment Group meeting
Concept of pre individual
Writing out notes before the meeting
Talk about anything
Write about what happened immediately afterwards
Looking at notes, circling 6 words, word is a concept and symbols
Put the 6 words in 3 pairs (dichotomies)
Take meanings of the words further, look in dictionary
Create simple sentence for each dichotomie
Write paragraph under each sentence describing social meeting, should fit with the sentence

- Generally does not take a week off from communication
- Your responses are important
- Learning to construct meaning, you are constructing meaning
- Deconstructing the letter, taking each word, going into dictionary and looking at your options to substitute that word.
- Re-frame the sentence with these other options
- Difference between each other is within these words we select
- Show how you are innovative with these selections
- Can only innovate if you are open to different ideas and words
- Create inter-subjective spaces
- Selected words, symbols, and ideas are making an impact to the group
- Eyes looking at eyes
- We are not learning in a linear way
- We are learning non-linear thinking
- Craftsmen of words
- Working to be a phenomenologist
- Exchange of information, the ownership of your text is the key currency
- Words to change reality
- Learning through association
- Toolbox is your dictionary
- Own a good dictionary, way to enter the world
- Felt experience has to fit the abstraction

- We represent possibilities, you represent history.
- Perspective means distance to see the whole picture
- We are too young to see the whole picture
- Complex Adaptive Systems
- Dynamic Decision Making
- Unique Innovative Capabilities
- These four constitute 40% of grade
- Understand these characteristics of successful global businesses/organizations
