Before Notes: I am excited to meet new people and put my communication skills to use. It is always nice knowing people within your classes and working together through assignments and figuring a schedule to do things for classes. I'm not sure what my group members look like so it'll be fun to look around and find one another. We are going to meet in the library for an hour or so to get to know each other and see what we have and don't have in common.
After: When I was waiting in the library at one of the open tables I was texting my group to figure out where everyone was. I explained my location in depth as much as I could so that I could be found. Eventually, I saw a girl looking confused and as if she was looking for someone so I assumed it was Olivia and I waved to her to come over to where I was sitting. We found each other and immediately began asking questions about one another. Olivia is a senior finance major and shes from Quincy Mass. She lives off-campus in Narragansett and is graduating this upcoming spring. She has no pets but she does love dogs. I asked what she liked to do and she said gymnastics. I was extremely enthused because I wanted to be on the team for URI but never had time to try out. I also did gymnastics for about 8 years of my childhood. We both life to go to the beach and we've had internships. She interns at her families electrical company in her home town. When she graduates she prefers to work within a private firm and wants to live in Boston. Her favorite food is guacamole and she has one older sister.
Craig and I are both senior accounting majors aiming to get our 150 credits. We both have to do an extra semester or two to reach that goal and start studying for our CPA (Certified Public Accountant). He has two brothers, one older and one younger and hes from Paramus NJ. He also has one dog and we both enjoy watching the tv show Power. Instead of going to URI he was going to go to Rowan in NJ but URI seemed like a better fit since he wouldn't see many of his high school friends. He interns in Orangeburg, NY for RRC CPA's which is three times a week. Craig isn't sure what field of accounting he wants to go into but he definitely wants to work in NYC or NJ.

Dichotomies + Sentences: Social Meeting
tables/ location
"In a location where there are many tables, it is up to us to choose which spot makes us feel most serene".
As we tried to choose a location to meet we all came up with the library since that is where we were all available during the time frame given. When I got to the library I was the first one there so I looked around to find the most effective table to be seated. In this process, I was thinking about the space, the noise, and the environment. I knew we had to be on the first floor because that is where we can have a conversation and not disturb anyone's peace. As I made the decision of where to sit I thought it was a good choice due to the fact that we could interact and hear one another easily in such surroundings.
senior/ firm
"Firms are hard to choose from when you're a senior ready to graduate".
Within my group, all of my members are seniors at the university. When we discussed our after school careers or any internships now we are seemed to have a different answer. I know I will be working at PwC after my college career as Olivia wasn't sure where she wanted to work but she knew she wanted to be in Boston. Craig wants to be in accounting but hes not sure of which field he wants to go into. This made me aware of the differences between one another and how each of us could help one another figure things out. For example, I could explain my experience within a public firm and how the work is done as Craig could take in my insights and maybe find things he'd find interesting if he were to work in a public company.
enthused/ questions
"Questions bring knowledge and knowledge brings enthusiasm as well as more meaning to certain words/ symbols".
Throughout the social meeting, we all kept asking several questions back and forth to get to know one another and really get a deeper understanding of our personalities. The outcome of asking questions raised my knowledge of our analogies. Both Olivia and I have participated in gymnastics throughout our life so we were able to ask questions about that specific sport. This made me excited and apprehensive about the things we could further discuss and receive more information on. Also, Craig and I were really similar when it came to our majors, the shows we watch, the pets we have and our goals in the future after graduation. It brought much more questions and ideas to deliberate since we understood each other on this level of life.
