Society of Consumers
The main topic of society of consumers is that consumers are now being turned into commodities due to the rapid expansion of technology and social media. I believe that social media plays a massive role in this because people across the world post pictures and videos of themselves with things that they feel are cool, popular, or high end in an attempt to basically brag about what they have to other people. In this case they become an influencer to the brand or company they post the products about, and they also become a commodity for that company as well. Due to social media more and more people are becoming materialistic, and this creates a spiral affect that furthers the transformation of making people into commodities.
