New form of intimacy and friendship

Anthony Giddens, Baron Giddens (born 18 January 1938) is a British sociologist who is known for his theory of structuration and his holistic view of modern societies. He is considered to be one of the most prominent modern sociologists and the author of at least 34 books, published in at least 29 languages, issuing on average more than one book every year. In 2007, Giddens was listed as the fifth most-referenced author of books in the humanities.[1][2]
Giddens illustrates how two consequences of Globalization, namely the rise of a ‘risk consciousness’ and detraditionalisation, undermine the ability of institutions such as the Nation State, the family and religion, to provide us with a sense of security and stability. These institutions are no longer able to offer us a clearly defined norms and values that tell us how we should act in society. This situation has far reaching consequences for how individuals experience daily life and for how they go about constructing their identities.
‘There is a global revolution going on in how we think of ourselves and how we form ties and connections with others.’ The Social Meeting Exercise is about ‘friendship.'

Theory of assemblages

Post by annamelby » 22 Sep 2019, 17:29

Your 'social entity' is unique by the flow of information (structures, dichotomies, symbols, expressions) that forms your Assemblage. Please google Deleuze and Guattari and Assemblage Theory.
Assemblage theory is an ontological framework developed by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, originally presented in their book A Thousand Plateaus (1980). Assemblage theory provides a bottom-up framework for analyzing social complexity by emphasizing fluidity, exchangeability, and multiple functionalities.Assemblage theory asserts that, within a body, the relationships of component parts are not stable and fixed; rather, they can be displaced and replaced within and among other bodies, thus approaching systems through relations of exteriority.

TED TALKS

How megacities are changing the map of the world
"I want you to reimagine how life is organized on earth," says global strategist Parag Khanna. As our expanding cities grow ever more connected through transportation, energy and communications networks, we evolve from geography to what he calls "connectography." This emerging global network civilization holds the promise of reducing pollution and inequality -- and even overcoming geopolitical rivalries. In this talk, Khanna asks us to embrace a new maxim for the future: "Connectivity is destiny."
We are in a position of building a new and better world, by changing the spending structure in order to advance developing countries
We need to change the spending structure, due to increasing population
We need to change the idea of completing charity work, but by connecting cities we will have more stability and increased trade.
By building more connectivity and by wrapping the world together we can evolve into a better world, where geographical constraints no longer exist.

Mapping the future countries
Many people think the lines on the map no longer matter, but Parag Khanna says they do. Using maps of the past and present, he explains the root causes of border conflicts worldwide and proposes simple yet cunning solutions for each.

1. It is wonderful to read your self-generated text. You must pass it by others: a business person, a bureaucrat, an academic; a science major, a theatre major, a social worker or a sports person. A musician, an artist, an electrician, a plumber, a politician, a film maker, a photographer, your yoga instructor and your coach.

2. You are not showing how you did it, nor what you did, you are sharing How you Think. Thereby you empower your text.

3. As one example, I have Ryan, Neal and Crystal’s paper before me and looking at descriptions of their experiences of 'integrated networking structures,' I am simply amazed. They use the following symbols to describe their knowing and knowledge construction: woven, connect, shape, incorporate, interconnected, framework, link, complex and build.

4. Your selection of symbols, and your abstractions, aphorisms, fragments and felt-experiences, communicated in a digital environment are virtual products which have use-value.

5. Your virtual products are ‘singular' and part of a ‘multitude' (please google Multitude by Hardt and Negri).

We are creating a society and connection thorough the fishbowl and the members participating. Everyone are creating ideas and sharing their words and we are creating a space where people can share their thoughts, ideas and perspectives of the world and various tasks.

Making space
You have to add emotion and feelings to your words and the art of writing is to make people perceive the feelings that you're putting into words when you are writing it and they are reading it. I
If you're able to do this you can persuade people in ways that you never knew you could before this is so important especially working in the business world and it's been interesting to work in the fish bowl and learn from each other in the matter of developing a deeper understanding of vocab in the usage of her words in the daily.

Letter: Re-Structuring Text
Restructuring texts has been a big part of this class and learn how to do this an effective way has been very interesting. There is also an art to translating languages can you translate languages people think that you're just transferred in one word in one sentence into a different language but there's a lot that goes into this because being able to transfer languages and still being able to have the same meaning of the sentence can be very difficult, that has been very important to me being an international student and taking this class and being able to do this and an effective way and English and I have really enjoyed taking this class and learning how to do this for later in life.

Sharing What We See When We Read
Being able to share with others what you see when you read in an effective way can help you go a long way in life. If you're able to read a text and share with others how this make you feel what you saw and images is created in your mind you can be able to persuade people and translate text into images through your whole life this can open up your imagination and make your life more creative and also train your brain to create images out of text.

Letter: Reading the Other’s Text
Reading other texts in responding to their words in creating your own images through the text that they right has been a big part of this class and it has helped me understand how others think is right and the words they use in their language overall this has been a very very interesting and important to understand that other people think speak and write in different ways than you and you can learn a lot from watching and listening to all the people.
